Declaration of Faith

Summary: We believe in the Bible as the Word of God, in one God in three persons, and in Jesus as our Savior. Salvation is by grace through faith. The Holy Spirit guides, transforms, strengthens, and equips us to live in obedience to God and share His love. The church is the community of believers, and marriage is a sacred covenant. This faith gives meaning to everything we do and inspires us to live purposeful lives, learning, growing, and sharing the hope we so desperately need!

THE WORD OF GOD | 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21

We believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God. It is without error and never changes. It is the absolute truth and the foundation upon which we build our lives. We affirm all 66 books of the Bible, from the Old to the New Testament. As believers, we value the Bible and seek to live each day according to what we read and learn, obeying God in love.

GOD | Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4

God has always existed and always will. He is all-powerful, omnipresent (always with us), and omniscient (all-knowing). He created the universe and humanity, and sustains all things. He is one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, what we know as the Trinity.

JESUS | John 1:1-18, Colossians 1:13-22

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived without sin, fully God and fully man. He died on the cross, taking upon himself our sins to give us a new life and relationship with God. Three days later, he was resurrected and ascended to heaven, where he is at the right hand of the Father. Jesus will return to reign and establish his kingdom.

HOLY SPIRIT | Genesis 1:2, Acts 1:8, Ephesians 1:13-14

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. After Jesus ascended to heaven, God sent the Holy Spirit to be our counselor, comforter, and guide. He helps us recognize sin, strengthens us to live in obedience to God, and equips us to share our faith. The Holy Spirit lives in every believer and shows us God's will.

SALVATION | Romans 3:23, Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-9

We believe that salvation is only obtained through Jesus. We are saved by God's grace through faith, not by our own works, but by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. We are all born with sin and need a Savior. Jesus came to rescue us and offer us forgiveness. The gospel is the "good news" of Jesus, and we believe we must share it with our words and actions.

THE CHURCH | Matthew 28:19-20, Colossians 1:8, 1 Peter 5:1-5

The Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers. It is not just a place, but a community that seeks to fulfill God's mission in the world.

MARRIAGE | Ephesians 5:22-33

We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman. Intimacy within marriage is a gift from God. We believe that a wife should respect and support her husband, just as the church follows Christ. We also believe that a husband should love his wife in the same way that Christ loved the church and gave his life for her.
