Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is a city where silence plays hide-and-seek (and it's really good at it) and life-pace is rather fast.
Scooters and convenience stores (7-11, Family Mart, Hi-life, etc.) are literally everywhere, making daily life so convenient for the more than 7.5 million people in the Taipei metropolitan area.
In fact, if you ask many of the locals and foreigners, one word to describe Taipei, and Taiwan in general is: Convenient.
Taiwan may be small in size, but it’s full of things to see and do for people of all ages. Its cities are vibrant and full of life, offering delicious foods to try—some well-known, like:
Bubble tea 珍珠奶茶 (zhēnzhū nǎichá)
Beef Noodles 牛肉麵 (niúròu miàn)
Soup Dumplings 小籠包 (xiǎolóngbāo)
and others for the more adventurous palate, such as stinky tofu (臭豆腐, chòu dòufu).
Taiwan as homebase
Taiwan has a unique charm that captivates many—its people, its culture, its narrow alleyways. There’s something about this island that draws people in, often to the point where they find themselves coming back to stay.
To whom it may concern
This blog brings together insights and tips for those planning a trip to Taiwan or considering moving and adjusting to life here. It may also serve as a helpful guide for Taiwanese families living abroad who return to Taiwan during the summer or winter holidays.
